UTG Residents Vote on Bond for New Office
Unified Towns to Build Municipal Facilty
On Thursday, March 13, 2008, Unified Towns and
Gores of Essex County residents passed a $230,500 bond vote to begin
construction on a new municipal building. Pictured are UTG Supervisor

counting votes. Twenty -one of thirty registered voters participated, and
the proposed project passed with 16 yes votes and 5 no. The UTG has also
been awarded a $62,000 grant for the project from the USDA. The UTG owns
112 acres of land on VT105 in Ferdinand, which is the proposed location of
the building. The UTG has never owned a municipal office building, and
presently rents a small office in Island Pond at the old Railroad
Building.
